Keanu quote of the day

"I've been interested in him [Shakespeare] since I was about 16 and doing Romeo And Juliet in my English classes. I love him. Where did he come from? I got completely engrossed in acting Shakespeare - in the eloquence, in the low and high humour, in the agonies and the ecstasies. King Lear is my favourite."

I liked that other quote, too, where he said that he sometimes carries the sonnets with him and tries to learn them by heart.

Reminds me of homework back in my school years and how I got confused with the order of the lines of a poem.
It always was a great feeling to get it right eventually, though.
I invented melodies to recite them to so I would keep them in the right order. :-D

Well, he's a professional so I don't think he really has any of those problems but it's fun picturing him marvel at the same expressions.

I haven't read King Lear yet. Is it that good? :-D

Re: Shakespeare
My main knowledge of Shakespeare is Keanu related so I could not say much about Lear. One of the cool things is that I started to appreciate the sonnets after reading of his affection for them. I am confident he will get a stage performance together eventually and then I will drive myself crazy until I get tickets. In my defense, I wont travel outside of the US/Canada to see it. I don't think I will... :)

Well, guess I have to check it out here, then:

(Man, I really love the interwebs.
I remember the old days where I would have needed to go to our library and see if they have it. And now I'm browsing the web and posting a comment in a very cool blog of someone from somewhere out in the world - with my cell phone.
That never ceases to amaze me. :-D )

Speaking of the World's Bestest Actor touring with a Shakespeare play - well if he comes to Germany you can come over and stay at my place. Saves costs.

the web
I often say that I wonder why anyone would ever LEAVE the internet. :) Everything you ever wanted to know at your fingertips.
I am still using a desk computer so when I'm out and about there is no internet for me.
Thanks for the generous offer! If I had to guess where he might do a play it would be NYC or London. I like your idea of a tour of Shakespeare. He could hit all the major cities of the world so one of them would be close. Give all the fans an opportunity...
